Clean water & holistic health for Newark

Alkaline Xpress Holistic Wellness Center serves its community with plant-based “Alkaline” food, holistic products, reform events, spa services, shipping, notary, consulting, and greenhouse activities. Alkaline Xpress sits in Newark’s busy Central Ward, a busy and densely populated area with some of the city’s oldest water lines. Concerns about lead contamination in their tap water has led residents and businesses like Alkaline Xpress to rely on bottled water and water drives for safe drinking water.

The Newark Water Coalition has partnered with Alkaline Xpress to provide clean, safe water to Newark’s Central Ward. Together the organizations host regular water drives along with Alkaline Xpress’ community programming, and with the Water Box visitors to the wellness center and restaurant have ongoing access to a reliable source of healthy water.

The Water Box at Alkaline Xpress in Newark, NJ was made possible through a donation by Complex Networks, an American media and entertainment company for youth culture, based in New York City. It was founded as a bi-monthly magazine, Complex, by fashion designer Marc Milecofsky. Complex Networks reports on popular and emerging trends in style, sneakers, food, music, sports and pop culture.
