Meeting the needs of individuals and families who are in need of physical and spiritual assistance
La Puente is an unincorporated area of Los Angeles County with one of the highest poverty rates in the nation. 85% of La Puente’s 40,000 residents are Hispanic and 42% are foreign-born. With limited access to resources, its residents rely on community organizations for spiritual and physical support and to provide a safe and supportive environment - including food and access to clean, safe drinking water.
Servant's Arms at St Stephen Baptist Church is a nonprofit Christian ministry committed to serving individuals who are struggling with addiction and homelessness. Their primary objective is to provide a safe and supportive environment where individuals can find healing, hope, and restoration. The organization's mission is to address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of those they serve, offering various programs and services to help individuals overcome their challenges. Servant's Arms emphasizes the importance of love, compassion, and acceptance, aiming to create a community where individuals can experience a sense of belonging and receive the support they need to rebuild their lives.
The vision of Servants Arms is to extend our arms to embrace, support and uplift those in need by aiding in the relief of social and economic stigmas in our community. To be “God’s Servants”, “In God’s Service”, demonstrating compassion for all people.
The Water Box at Servant's Arms was made possible by a donation from Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda L. Solis, the Los Angeles County Supervisor who represents the residents of the First District.
And by a donation from doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation, which empowers people worldwide to be healthy, safe, and self-reliant. doTERRA supports Mission Clean Water, which works with 501CTHREE to develop educational programming and instruction about The Water Box and the importance of clean, safe water.
